V: The Alpha Male
"The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection." -Thomas Paine
When I think of the word 'Alpha Male' I think of a lion, in all its grandeur, perched atop a cave, head held high, like Mufasa from The Lion King. The Alpha Male was to me, a Mufasa to his Sarabi.

He's the real, man's man. Courageous, persistent, stubborn, hard-working, are just a few adjectives used to describe him. He's tough, although mostly quiet and composed he will still entertain people well and will defend himself and his loved ones, if provoked. I knew that he always had my back and no matter how hard it was for him, he would still provide for me and our family, financially. He was the first to pamper me silly, not for the sake of fun but because he felt I deserved better. From a new handphone, hard drive, cordless phone to even things like shades, jerseys and so much more, I really felt spoilt, just being his.
The alpha male has style. He takes pride in how he looks and people respect him for that. He's also is in peak physical shape. He’s strong and athletic but gentle and patient too. I remember meeting him for the very first time at a wedding overseas. He had an aura around him that was emanating from his eyes. From the back of the wedding hall, his eyes were calling out to me. It was nothing I had ever experienced.
I never thought a long-distance relationship could work. But we did make it work for 2 beautiful and amazing years. He was the partner I always wanted in a man. I mean noone is perfect and I am definitely an advocate for making compromises with each other for the happiness of the both of us. I was looking forward to a life with him. Things took a drastic u-turn when I realised that we couldn't come to a decision on where we would spend our lives together; neither at my home country, nor his. It was the hardest decision I had to take. But I knew that I had to end it or one of us would end up very unhappy in the long run.
The worst thing about our breakup was the fact that we broke up over a future unseen. It wasn't that we cheated on each other, or we were terrible partners or that we stopped loving each other. At least any of these three reasons would've still been easier to accept and to move on from. Even up till today I wonder what our lives would have been if either one of us could move to the other's country. If he was here, we'd probably already be married. But I can't guarantee if we would've been truly happy.
I know and strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. And I trust God enough to know that whatever she throws my way is for a reason. One I have to be patient for.
The Alpha Male will always share an irreplaceable, special connection with me. It's too hard for him to be in touch with me, especially now that I am getting married. I can understand. I just wonder how he is, and am always worried about him. I just want him to be happy and to allow himself to love again. Maybe one day he will be able to be happy for me too and to be strong enough to be friends. Until then, he will always be in my prayers and thoughts.
Thank YOU for being you and for showing me how deeply a Man can love. Thank you for loving me as much as you do. You're a blessing to anyone lucky enough to meet you. I hope you never forget just how much I love you too. And that I am, just a phone call away. Till next time, take care love.
